Canon 60D CR2 Files

I just bought a new Canon 60D and I went taking pictures with it for the first time this weekend. When I put the SD card into my iMac, iPhoto loaded up and tried to import the pictures, but an error came up. It does not recognize the CR2 file format!!! I can not view the pictures using Preview either. How can I fix this???

MacBook, IMac, Mac OS X (10.6.2), 13", white, 2.1 dual core + 21.5", 3.06 Core 2 Duo

If you view this thread, you will see that it is not a supported format yet.

Thanks for your quick reply.
This is sooooo unacceptable. Canon is such a big name support for their new products should be immediate. If the 60D CR2 works with Adobe products already, and it seems it does, there is no excuse for Apple to be so far behind.
