If you recall in the 1998 Apple Back on Track Keynote, while introducing the iMac, Steve showed a slide of what the "i" stood for; and it was,
internet
individual
instruct
inform
inspire
i is an imaginary number
Well, there you have it.

Why isn't there a secure answer to this yet?
Because there is no specific, solid answer/definition.
I agree... I just think it's interesting that we are all just so curious 🙂
I had heard years ago that the "I" was a reference to Jonathan Ive. So Ive's version of the Mac, quietly giving him credit for all the work he did in its creation.
According to the Special event in 1998, the "i" stands for internet, as mentioned before, but also individual, instruct, inform and inspire.
It doesn't stand for any name, but it was a tribute to his two Grandfathers, Anderson Shipp Truman and Solomon Young. But why this random change of subject?

I give up...
Why are you responding to a 3 year old post?
Oh, I didn't realize... It was at the top of the community discussions for some reason...
I Would say 'Intelligent'
I would wager, 'Infuriating'
It's probably a zombie thread. Someboby digs up an old thread, says something rude then has their post deleted by the hosts. The thread is moved up in the timeline making it look current.
Oh, that make sense.
Thank you. Unfortunately it happens fairly often.
