Best way to buy 13" MBA w/ 4GB of RAM for a tourist (in SF,LA,LV)

Hi!

My parents will travel to the US to make a roadtrip and visit San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
While they are there I am convincing them to buy a new laptop and to convert them to Mac users.

I checked the sales tax and the difference is negligible but now to my question:

How can they buy the MBA 13" for $1,299 (the "basic" model) and add 4GB of RAM to it (for $100 extra of course)?
Is their only choice to buy it in a physical store and if so, which stores might carry it and where?
(Ex. Apple Retail Store in San Francisco should have it)
OR
Can they buy it online? If so how and from who?
Most online stores don't ship to hotel rooms and hotel addresses.

Another thing to think about is that the shipping address don't match the cards address since it goes to our home in Sweden.

So basically -
They will visit San Francisco, Los Angles and Las Vegas and they want to buy a MBA 13" with 4GB of RAM (the basic variant with 4GB RAM, no faster CPU or bigger HDD etc., just 4GB RAM extra).
Where and how can they do that?

Best Regards - TheSwede86

Apple Retail Store would be the best solution. There is a very good chance that they will have one in stock. There is a better chance that they will have the 4 GB, 256 GB combo. Stores seem to stock a lot of the base models, some of the "Ultimate" maxed out models, and a few of the in-between models.

Each of those cities have many Apple Retail Stores.

Thanks for your reply.

It was my understanding that the Retail Store's only had either the "basic" models or the "maxed-out" models and not any of the in-betweens? (ex. the one I want, the "basic" 13" w. 4GB of RAM)

Thats good to hear, I have Skype with some money on my account so I guess I'll have to call and ask around to figure out which store has my model.

Thanks for your reply.

So if I understood you correctly then you meant that I ordered it by calling or going to a local Apple Retail Store and ask them if they can order a custom 13" MBA w. 4GB of RAM through Apple Store Online and then pick it up at the retail store?

Do you (or anybody else) have any experience with this?
Can you do this?
Are there any extra fee's associated with this?

The problem is that my parents will be in each city only 1-2 or for a maximum of 3 days.
So if they were to order a BTO MBA the first day it wouldn't arrive until they have departed.
So then they have to order it in one Apple Retail Store (lets say San Francisco store) and pick it up in another (lets say Los Angeles). Wonder if that is possible.

The solution would be if an Apple Retail Store would have it in stock without having to order it.
EDIT: Of course another solution would be if I could order it via phone here in Sweden before they go but then I would have to order it before they have received payment for it and I don't know if they would go along with it (my parents would pay when they pick it up).
