Cursor Speed at Login Page

I have a Magic Mouse paired to an iMac running Snow Leopard. I have set the tracking speed to the fastest possible setting on each of the four local accounts on the system. When at the login window, however, the tracking speed reverts to its factory setting. This is very annoying; the cursor moves far too slowly. I'd like to set the tracking speed to the fastest setting for the login window as well. How can I do this?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Hi Landyn M - This may not be possible, you are not logged into an account as of yet for custom setting.

I did find this link for new magic, it may or may not affect your needs via terminal.

You don't have to use the mouse to login. Use the up and down arrows to select the account, then press Return (or Enter) to login.

Hi,

This seems to be a normal behavior, because the preferences settings are mede in a account or your account after you login.

I have the same behavior with SL and in the past in Tiger, Leopard it was the same as you described.

Hi,

The posted link described the settings AFTER you login.

I use ZoomMouse.

Even the the Terminal command will have NO affect on the login window.

I did a quick Google search for ZoomMouse and found no such software. Could you provide a link please? Thanks for your help!

Landyn,

The quickest way to login is to type the first letter of the account you want and hit enter. Enter the password and then the mouse tracking options will be in effect.
