Charged for what?

if this is in the wrong section, please move.

so i got a message from my credit card that ive been charged 1.98 euro and the payment was made yesterday. my apps have been paid earlier this year and i didnt download anything new yesterday. id like someone to clarify this for me please. if someone could point me in the right direction id appreciate it. 1.98 euro isnt that big of a deal but what if my details were stolen and somebody else could be using my card.

Go into your iTunes account on your computer and see what the charges are for

This is a user to user support forum so chances are we won't be able to help too much with billing related issues. You could chec with iTunes for more info...

I believe, or at least for my apple ID I receive an invoice via email for all iTunes charges which has a more detailed description of the charge. Did you receive anything? If so that might have more details.

thats the thing, i only got the payment history from my credit card, not from itunes. neither did itunes send me an invoice thru email. in my purchase history, last thing i did was update my apps on the 30th and it was free. O_o

Are you sure the charge is for iTunes? Is there a phone number listed on your credit card statement that goes with the charge?

maybe, someone knows your apple id and password and use it. Ask members of the family, relatives or friends you could think of that is also using apple products.

If someone had stolen your credit card details, I doubt that they would have celebrated by spending less than two euros. 🙂

In order to verify my information I got charged by 1.98 $, and then I got charged again for any other "free" application download. Moreover, you are not informed that you will be getting charged. Apple I-Tune is behaving like a third category web site aiming to steal info and money from user. Now I understand where 6 billion profits are arriving from.

it doesn't sound like this is his problem, but as a warning, quite often people that steal credit card details actually are charging a small amount at first to test to see if it's noticed and/or if they can then go berserk with it.

Actually someone who steals a credit card is going to make a couple large purchases because they know the card is going to be shut off in less than an hour in most cases. They aren't going to bother with piddly purchases to "test the waters".

But this is absolutely ridiculous, Apple keeps charging me $0.99 every time I try to make any changes to my account - I might as well use that money to purchase an app like 'Angry Birds'!

This is absolutely preposterous!! What's Apple doing is insane!

Imagine the number of $0.99 debited for each individual across the globe considering there are billions of Apple customers globally! 😠

Something is wrong with your account or someone else is using it... no one else gets charged in this way. I know of dozens of iOS users and this is happening to none of them. Get real, if this were a global issue, it would be all over the news.

If you change your credit card, Apple will put a $1 verification hold on the new card. Once the card has been verified, the hold will be release. Apple never actually takes that money from you.

i was being charged 1.98 euro for creating an account with itune,am sorry am new here but just want to know if this charge was merely for a verification purpose,or is it a normal thing.
