Can I delete .dmg files?

I have a bunch of .dmg files in a finder folder. The applications are installed. Do I need to keep the .dmg files or can I delete them?

Macbook 2.4, MacBook Pro 13.3" 2.26, Mac mini 2.2.6, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

I realized that I dosed 2 questions. Is your no referring to that No-I cannot delete them, or No-I do not need to keep them?
