Restoring my computer, How to keep my iPhone4 ok

I am basically going to restore my computer to clean it up.

However I know from past experience doing so will cause me to have to do all my settings / contacts / music / applications and start all over again.

How can I keep my current iPhone settings and everything after I have restored without messing it up?

64Bit, Windows Vista, iTunes iPhone4

move the itunes folder into your external hard drive (if you have one). After restoring, you can move the itunes folder back.

Make sure you back up your iphone before you do this.

Is that the iTunes folder in the Music section in folders?
