Can i upgrade OSX10.4.11 straight to 10.6?
I need to update and screen share in ichat, as well as other stuff...
and 10.4.11 is too old now.

But i cant get 10.4.11 to10.5 disc....
so wondered if i can just stick 10.6 in and install over everything?

Any advice.

If you have an G5 iMac you cannot install SL as it's only for Intel Macs. The highest OS for the G5 iMacs is Leopard.
You do not indicate which model iMac you have.

+"If your Intel-based Mac is running Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger, purchase the *Mac Box Set*, which is a single, affordable package that includes Mac OS X v10.6.3 Snow Leopard; iLife, with the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb, and iDVD; and iWork, Apple’s productivity suite for home and office including Pages, Numbers, and Keynote."+

Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...

General requirements
* Mac computer with an Intel processor
* 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
* DVD drive for installation
* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.

Hi Maree, possibly Leopard/10.5.x, but not Snow Leopard/10.6.x.

Leopard requirements/10.5.x...

* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor

minimum system requirements

* 512MB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
* DVD drive for installation
* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it!

Can i upgrade OSX10.4.11 straight to 10.6?
