How can I move pictures from one library to another in Iphoto 11 ?

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

    1. Export from one, import to the other. Though you will not get all the versions if you do this. You also need to be sure to sue the options in the Expor dialogue to write all the metadata to the files or that won't come over. Note there is no way to export Faces data.

    2. Use iPhoto Library Manager to move the files and all versions and all metadata - including Faces - between libraries. However this hasn't been fully updated for iPhoto 11 so you'll need to wait a few days.

Also if you are simply doing Alt + open iPhoto to switch between iPhoto Libraries, I recommend a free tool called iPhoto Buddy. Give it a try. I use 'iPhoto Buddy Menu' quite a bit.

What I am trying to do is, move some pictures from one album to another.

I will wait for the program.

You started the thread with this question:

Hence my response about iPhoto Buddy which allows you to work with multiple iPhoto Libraries.

Yes moving pictures from a library (aka iPhoto Library) to another library is different from moving pictures from one album to another. Terminology issue I guess.

You are correct, my bad. What I wish to do is move some pictures from one album to another.

Should read from album to album.

Assuming you are not in a smart album and not trying to send to a smart album, you should be able to just select the photo you want to be taken from Album 1 and drag it over the Album 2 title on your left panel. You will then need to delete those photos from Album 1 (if you only want the photos in Album 2), but it will copy those photos from Album 1 to 2 by just dragging it over, seeing the "+" sign as you drag it over the Album 2 title. You do not need iPhoto Library Manager for this.

If you are talking photobooks, that is a different topic.
