Q: ... Access to FCS via Back to my Mac ...

Hi,

My server FCS is installed computer 1.
I can see in the finder the computer 2, which is connected to the web in another city.

How can I connect my computer 2 as client (my computer 1 is 192.168.0.10).
Which address I need to put in the safari adress on computer 2 ???

Thanks

Mac Pro 8 core, MacBook Pro 17", MacBookPro 15", Mac OS X (10.5.1), AJA IO HD, FCP2, TASCAM FW 1082, JVC DTV24

    you can...

    A. connect to computer 1 (FCS machine) and open FCS on that screen (fastest)
    B. enable web sharing on 1(FCS machine) and share FCS over the internet to machine 2

Option A is the best way to do it... and really the only way if you are working with video.
Option B is the most direct way but FCS is not secure and you will be pulling all the data
over the internet... which unless you are fiber at both ends will be SLOW.

    More on option B...

So what you really want to know is how to get the correct address for Machine 1.
What you are seeing (192... etc.) is the default address your router has assigned.

You must go into the router setup, find the static (or not) address assigned by your ISP
and forward that to the FCS machine (machine 1) under the router's web sharing
port forwarding. Then you will have the REAL address to connect to from Machine 2.
