Unable to create or delete folder(s) on desktop

Hi,

I'm using a MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.4 and recently I realised that I'm unable to create a new folder or delete an existing folder on my desktop.

I'mable to create and delete folders in Documents and other locations with no trouble.

It throws an error message saying that I don't have permission to to this? I'm the only user with admin previleges.

After spending sometime in google, I came across "Disk repairs" which failed to fix this issue.

Grateful if you could help.

MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.4, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Invoke the Finder menu Go -> Home. In the resulting window do a "Get Info" on Desktop and on "Documents". Compare the settings in the "Sharing & Permissions" sections. If they are different, try changing the settings for Desktop to match those of Documents. You may have to click on the lock in the lower corner of the "Info" window to make those changes.
