Why can't I sync my ringtones

Question

Why can't I sync my ringtones

I am using iTunes 10.0.1.22 and have recently sync my iPhone. However although my custom ringtones appear in itunes they have disappeared from my phone and even though I've tried to syn the ringtones specifically they just won't appear on the phone. how come syncing has taken them of the phone and how do I get them back. I tried restore but that didn't work.

Do your ringtones show up as ringtones in the media tab to the left?

Do you have ringtones set to sync?

1. Connect your device to your computer using the included cable. By default, iTunes should open automatically.
2. Select your device in iTunes under Devices on the left-hand side and click the Info tab.
3. Select the ringtones tab at the top.

Is sync selected? All or selected ringtones?

In the ringtones tab, do you have the appropriate boxes checked to sync?

Thanks to you both but Yes the boxes are ticked in the Ringtones tab on both the phone and iTunes folders

I've now tried deleting the ringtones on the phone (iTunes says they're there but thet're not!) by unticking the boxes against each ringtone and then syncing with the Sync ringtones box checked. I've also tried syncing with the sync ringtones box unchecked and then checked them and synced again. Itunes still says that they are on the phone but when I go to Settings-Sounds-Ringtones there are no Custom ringtones showing?
Can anyone help?
