Just updated my OS from 4.0.1 to 4.1 and my SIM is lock. itune requesting for original carrier SIM. What can do since I bought the phone in my home country Nigeria

Since the iPhone is not officially sold in Nigeria, your phone was most likely hacked to make it work where you live. Any attempt to update software or restore a hacked iPhone will result in the phone being locked back to the carrier it was originally locked to. That appears to be what has happened to you.
