MobileMe Contacts

Situation: My iPhone contacts is synced in MobileMe from the web. It's up to date.

Question: If I delete the MobileMe account in my iPhone (and choose to keep the contacts in my iPhone), then say I add more contacts on my iPhone in the future AND update info of some existing contacts, what will happen if I setup the same MobileMe account back to my iPhone and sync it? will it follow the old contacts data stored from the MobileMe Web? or will it follow the updated details on my iPhone?
