I am considering buying a MacBook Pro but will need to dock it so I can continue to use my large monitor and keyboard. My current setup also includes a KVM switch so I can toggle between two different computers with just one mouse, keyboard and monitor. My questions are: 1) Is there a docking station or port replicator for an MacBook Pro? (if yes, model number?) and if so, 2) can it be used with a KVM switch that it can hook up to a PC?

Was just looking through these forums and found that a chat about docking stations and recalled a converstaion I had with an aquantance who mentioned that he had been working on some design through his own company for another company for a new product being release later this year. Something called a byte-dock. Looks like it will be another choice in the realms of docking your macbook pro. Though you might like the info.

2) Ask the makers of the docking stations that interest you.
Just an update from my previous post to say that I have now found this. www.byte-dock.com look like they are coming sooner rather than later.

Check out www.hengedocks.com ... I have 2 of these one for home and one for office ... both plugged into KVM's and they work great.

The only thing about I miss about my PC laptop is that I could run dual monitors out of the dock. Anybody ever seen a Mac docking station that supports two external monitors?
BookEndz docks allow you to use an external monitor along with your MacBooks screen. Try www.justdockit.com to find all the docks available.
