Mid 2007 iMac 20" CPU upgrade?

Hi, everyone.

I got a question about cpu grade for mid-2007 iMac 20" beacause I did not find out any this kind information for mid-2007 iMac 20" on google. My qesution is about whether it is possible to upgrade my 20" iMac(mid-2007)'s cpu to X7900, which is the fastest cpu of iMac(mid-2007), from original T7700 or not.

Thanks.

iMac 7.1, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

Good question however I don't think you can and if you could I think you would find the expense wouldn't justify the benefit. My recommendation is if you want a quicker machine, sell yours and get a new model. You can get Apple Refurbished iMac's right now for as low as $1,019.00 at least here in the US.

Wow, what a quick reply.

I was considering to get a new refurbished Mac instead of upgrading parts because there are pretty good deals at Apple store. However, currently my working place does not have enough space for the new model's size, but I am still looking forward getting a new Mac in one day for better performance on working.

Thank you, Roger.
