DVD Player wrong aspect full screen on opening

Hi,

When I put a DVD into my Mac and DVD Player launches, it plays the DVD full screen but at the wrong aspect ratio and the mouse hot spots don't line up with where the mouse is. As soon as I exit full screen the problem resolves it's self even if I go back into full screen.

Any idea what this might be?

The DVD Player lets you change the aspect ratio it is using. This thread discusses how to change that:

Hi,

Thanks for the link but I have been able to change the aspect after the DVD plays. My question was really around:

Is there a setting to change this behaviour?
Is this a bug?
Or is there something wrong with the disks that this happens on?

The reason I'm asking is I'm authoring a disk and want to make sure I've not done anything wrong. The behaviour only seems to manifest its self on PAL disks, interestingly.

PAL is primarily outside the U.S. I'm not near my Mac right now, but is there a setting to switch PAL to NTSC?

Hi,

You are correct PAL is a system used outside the US. I am based in the UK and have created a PAL disk. I wonder if this is something to pass on to the boys at Apple?

Well this isn't the Apple channel. http://www.apple.com/contact/ lists methods of reaching Apple.
