iPod got wet

My iPod got wet a long time ago. I kept it to dry. Now when I connect it to iTunes(ver.9), it shows my iPod and I can do all the normal things like syncing and all, but when I disconnect my iPod and plug in the required headphones, it doesnt even turn on. what should I do?

HP mini 1000, Windows XP, 80GB HDD, 1GB RAM

Get a new iPod, you've killed the battery on that one.

How long did you let it dry before you tried to use it?

If it was a short time you could let it dry for 3 or 4 days and try fulling charging it again. After that there is nothing further to try.
