GarageBand 11 - Flex Time a real pain in the ****

Ok, in GarageBand '09 I was able to cut bits out of a MP3 file mainly from acapella but when I try do do it in GarageBand '11 I just can't do it because of this stupid Flex Time crap, it just keeps wanting to turn it on all the time and you can no longer cut out bits from MP3s I absolutely hate it. Anyone know what can be done yet?

This is the answere from the link just make it easier.

"Click and drag below the "zero" line in GarageBand's Editor Pane, GB's Flex Time tool is only initiated when you click above the zero line. (as a side note, Apple did a wonderful job with the Flex Time tool, it works incredibly well, even when stretched to ridiculous extremes, but of course it's only useful if that's the tool you actually wished to use)"
