Trailers made with iMove 11 do not sync to iPhone

I've made a few trailers in iMove11 and they sync to my iPad okay but not to my iPhone. iTunes shows them okay but they just don't end up on the iPhone. Any clues?

I have an iPhone 3GS running the latest iOS

iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Just to add to this

Any clips I have made with iMove 11 do not sync to my iPhone 3G but they do sync to my iPad

In iMovie I go Share: Export Movie...
I choose 'Large' (ie works with iPhone, iPad, appletv and computer) and export to the desktop
I then drag the resulting .m4v file into iTunes
In iTunes they play fine. I sync to the iPad and iPhone
The movies sync fine to the iPad but nothing syncs to the phone
Other movies I have made with earlier iMovie versions do sync fine to the iPhone
This is driving me nuts!

Okay I think this is solved.

There is a menu option in iTunes that says 'convert to iphone' slaps head.
