I just bought the Razr VC3 from Verizon. To my disappointment it does not look like it's supported by iSync.

The computer recognizes the phone both by USB and by Bluetooth. iSync replies by saying it cannot connect to this phone whe you try to add it as a sync device.

You can access the folders in the Rzar (pictures, video, etc.)and upload files to them via the bluetooth panel.

Unfortunately there is no folder for contacts. So I have not figured out a way to get contacts from Address Book or Entourage into the phone.

Any help from someone else would be appreciated.

I take it back. If you follow this link, you will find instructions to add a file and an image file to iSync.

Just an FYI. The instructions indicate that you should be able to sync via Bluetooth. Through my frustrations, I was able to get through everything with the exception of iSync synching my contacts and calendar via Bluetooth.

In any event, I plugged the phone in via USB and (what do you know), iSync recognized the phone and I was able to sync my contacts and calendar.

Another FYI. I had to restart my phone first.

Since then I have been able to sync several times without issue.

Hope this help you out.

Can you provide a step-by-step process for this? For example, what do you mean by "restarting" your phone: turn it off/on, remove battery for a hard reboot, etc.?

I just bought the USB cable, turned the phone off then back on, and plugged it in. iSynce STILL says it cannot sync with myh phone. 😟

Thank you for any help you can give.

There's a link on the howardforum board (see the hotlink in the above posting) to a site where you can download a new .plist ( http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9PH5DVRU) I replaced the iSync .plist with the downloaded file and restarted my iMac.

(the howardforum board has directions for "showing" the .plist in Applications; right click on the iSync application).

iSync immediately recognized my phone via BLUETOOTH and I synched all my contacts wirelessly. I too bought the USB cable but never got it to work wired with iSync and don't need it now.

The download also has a .TIFF of the RAZR, so your iSync panel will have an icon for it.

Took a little trying (I am not used to this level of tinkering) but once I restarted the Mac, voila, no probs.

PS - I am talking about the Verizon RAZR V3c. Good luck.

Apple has not added support for this phone yet in iSync.

For those who cannot get iSync working with their V3c, below is a modified version of iSync 2.1.1 application including V3c RAZR support. Be sure to backup your iSync by zipping it or copying it to another folder. Then unzip the following file and move the iSync.app to your /Applications folder. Once done, re-pair your BT device and run iSync. Add device in iSync and your V3c should be supported!

DOWNLOAD MODIFIED iSync.app FILE INCLUDING SUPPORT FOR V3C RAZR:
