I have been using my Apple TV to watch netflix for the past month and now it seems as though I cannot play some or most of my content because of a netflix error 111 or 112. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? I have tried unplugging the box, hasn't helped.

    Same error 111 except when streaming on iPad. Very frustrating upon having given up cable TV for Netflix. Is this an Apple only error?

    I have the same issue.

    Netflix on Apple TV often shows an error (111). My workaround is that I keep trying. About half of the time, after 4-7 tries, things start working. Usually I give up and pick something else.

    It's annoying. I've come to expect better things. This, described above, is an inadequate experience.

    I've been seeing this the last couple of days. Hadn't seen it before. Maybe some problem at the Netflix end?

    I doubt it's a Netflix issue - I don't experience this on my wire-connected computer, only with AppleTv. On top of this, there are no references at the Netflix site to connection based issues.

    I expect it has something to do with wireless networking.

    My Apple TV is wired. I have been using it extensively since introduction, and I've only seen this error the last two or three days.

    Same here. Appears to be specific to ATV. Also seem to lose audio randomly. I am using wired connection and not having problems watching on other equipment on same network. Will call customer service and post response if helpful

    Spoke to customer service at Netflix. they confirm that it is a known issue and that Apple is working on it. The way she described it sounded like a handshake problem between ATV and Netflix servers (but I'm not sure that the agent was particularly tech savvy). Net net, expect a firmware update from Apple.

    I have seen this problem very frequently with my Apple TV. When I see this problem I tried to play some other movie. Surprisingly the new movie plays. Once the new movie starts, click Menu and go back to your original movie and try again. This worked for me 3 out of 4 times. Hope this helps.

    This is not a problem only to apple tv. I have netflix on my ipad and it has been doing this for about a month now. When netflix release new update recently, it stopped doing 111 error for 3-4 days and it came back again. If I press refresh button couple of times, it sometimes work if I get lucky. Some people suggest turning device off would work. Yes, but it takes too much time and effort to watch just one movie. I believe this is a bug from Netflix. They must have some cookie or cache setting which is conflicting while connecting to server. Probably cache is preventing from application to connect to server, when in fact the program didn't get connected to server. But that is my theory. I hope somebody finds work around or fix the bug once and for all.

    I am having the same issues.

    I have tried the following:

    Contacted Clear internet thinking it was my internet connection speed. They pointed the finger to Netflix.
    Contacted Netflix (no luck they pointed the finger at Clear)
    Contacted Apple and was told it was a Netflix issue.

    I also powered down, reset my internet connection, checked bandwidth speeds, reset network.

    Hello! fix the problem! Its obviously a communication issue between apple and netflix.

    I'm having problems as well...tried unplugging, setting my DNS to, and even deactivated my Apple TV on to see if reactivating it would do the trick. No go. This is slightly annoying.

    Now sometimes I get the "Accessing Netflix" window, then the AppleTV sorta restarts. Not a complete reboot, but it kicks off the back to the main screen.

    i totally agree.....

    Im wondering now if it is my Clear internet is the problem. Netflix has logged .02 Mbs which is why it couldnt connect. Im changing my service to see if that does the trick.

    I have also done all of the above except switch ISPs.
