How to edit/change title/text?

I've imported a series of b/w images I created as an I-movie a couple years ago, and want to change the title slide and the ending credits, which are text only. I can get the text displayed in the upper right window, but cannot select it or change it no matter where or how I click or drag. How do I access edit mode? I-movie help simply says select and change, which I can't do.
