Can not edit auto_master file

Can not edit auto_master file

I need to modify the auto_master file, but I can not change the read-only file property of it. I used sudo, which I assume should give me the authority to copy and modify the file. I would appreciate it is someone can let me know how to do this.

Hi

Have you tried using a terminal editor? Something like pico, nano, vi or emacs?

sudo nano /etc/auto_master

Should do it? Make the changes as you see fit. You won't see the administrator password being typed. Presumably you're having the problem outlined in this Support KB?

I don't know how to use nano. But I used vi and it worked this time.
