Why not use the Safari->Develop->Open Page With->Internet Explorer? Safari->Preferences->Advanced->Show Develop menu in menu bar.

First, try Safari or FireFox. If it doesn't work, then you need to look into IE. Microsoft does not have a version of IE for OS X. Your options are to use a virtual machine like Parallels or VMWare with a copy of Windows, or try and use something like WINE or CrossOver which will permit you to run certain versions of IE without Windows.

The last version (5.2.3) came out in 2003 and is still available for download at some places on the internet. It runs in OS X but I doubt that it would meet the version requirements of the web site you need to access. You should try one of the work arounds posted above.

Safari-Develop- +User Agent+ - Internet Explorer will fool some sites into letting you in, although they may not work properly if they really do require IE.


Develop- +Open With+ allows you to choose from other browsers you may have already installed.

If you are like me your Safari tool bar does not show the word "Develop." If so, to get it to show up go into Safari Preferences >> Advanced >> then check the box at the bottom of the page.

Also, please update your forum profile with the correct computer model and operating system.

Walter Holt (and others), how did you fare?

I'm trying to use my MacBook on an all-Windows network, and the final hang-up appears to be our corporate-wide applications written for (and accessed with) Internet Explorer 8. I'm looking forward to trying it again with the Develop > User Agent technique to try and make it work.

How did it go for you?

Bump. Nothing posted here worked for me... including Wine. Anyone have any luck?
