Embedded Flash videos not showing up in safari on many sites...

- all latest updates and same pages are fine on Firefox...

example of missing video:'

btw: http://www.youtube.com/ is all ok....

Q: how do i get the videos to show up again - is there a setting somewhere?

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

HI,

Adobe advises repairing permissions when having problems with embedded video. Give it a try.

Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Thanks Carolyn - did that but no change...

also I tried setting these:

did not help either...

Which Flash Player version? Do you have any extension that precludes Flash from loading? Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Flash Player, 10.1.102.64?

Try deleting Cookies (Safari/Preferences/Security).

If that doesn't fix it, delete these folders (quit all browsers first):

Home/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player

Home/Library/Caches/Adobe/Flash Player

If deleting the caches doesn't help, install the v10.6.4 Combo Update

Thanks everybody for helping...

baltwo - you found it. I was fooling with incognito extension a while back - even though it didn't say anything about flash - disabling it did the trick
