Any way to iChat a file to a Windows machine using Bonjour?

Hiya
I'd like to be able to iChat a file over to an XP box running any messenger solution (I'm testing with Trillian 4.2)

Currently, using the Windows Bonjour (Bonjour for Windows 2.0.2.0) and the Bonjour account on Trillian I can see all the users and ichat them files which works fine (PC -> Mac). However when I iChat files the other way (Mac -> PC) it complains they're corrupted. An .xls file, which emails just fine, cannot be opened after being moved over Bonjour, with Excel complaining;
Excel cannot open the file 'basic bonjour test.xlsx' because the file format or file extension is not valid.
(I have tried it with actual .xls as well, same result, even when zipped) The files do open and you can see some clear text in the .xls, DocumentSummaryInformation for example, but most of it is garbage.

Is this happening because of the fundamental incompatibilities with forked files on a non-forked format?

It would be amazing if the Windows users could be sent directly over iChat - Trillian/Pidgin, currently people email versions of spreadsheets and docs back and forth, loading up the mail server with redundant documents. Has anyone found a way to do this?

Thanks very much

Hi,

It is a long time since I tested this. (Probably with iChat 3 and AIM 5.9)

I have certainly received Text Documents from someone I know who uses AIM (I think the Mac Version) up until recently (But that is the way you say it works.

I also created an .xls document and sent it Over AIM to my MAcBook Pro booted into XP (Boot Camp) and it turned out fine (it had very little data in it).

I don't have anything that is doing Bonjour on the XP Boot to test it that way.
