Hi - I have an Iphone 3GS, and was wondering if there is a way to migrate the photos in the photo library or camera roll to my laptop. the phone is inactive, so I cant email them. itunes sync doesn't seem to grab the camera roll photos, not sure where to go now

Photo library sync is one way - computer to iphone. As these pics were synced from your computer to the iphone in the first place, they should still be on your computer and your backup copy of your computers docs/files/pics/music/etc.

Camera Roll pics are not part of the sync process at all. You import them as you would from any other digital camera ( photoshop, camera and scanner wizard, iphoto, aperture).
