iPhoto hangs (new)

Hi all

Same problem as Eric H. describes:

"Great. iPhoto will not launch now. The error panel pops up immediately and forces me to quit. All I did was install iPhoto '11 and then upgrade via System Update to iPhoto 9.1. I'm completely SOL. Does anyone know the fix for this?"

I have iPhoto '11, and upgrade via sysstem Update (today) - and now iPhoto hangs!!

Here is a sample of the iPhoto process:

Anybody know how to fix it?

Did you repair disk permissions after installing iLife 11 and the iPhoto updaters? If not do so. Also delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and try again.

NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

I am having a problem with repairing permissions. I have tried three times and it hangs at a Java 1.6 something. I have never had a repair permission failure. Something is very wrong here. I did get 10.6.5 to install off the web installer and everything is running, although very jerky and slow. Apple went off the deep end with that iLife update. It has hosed everything. I know they are working on it, but this is really bad.
