Google Search Settings Not Saving Even After Reset

Hi. I've reset Safari (which also emptied the cache) but still the search settings for Google won't save, although Google says it had saved it. It keeps returning 10 results but I set and saved it to 100 results (it even confirmed that it was saved). When I set search setting again, it's back to 10 results. I'm using 10.6.5 and a late 2009 iMac i7. Thank you in advance.

I wonder if it's a Google search bug itself?

seems so - I get the same thing across browsers, even with the number clearly shown in the page url.

but go to the UK site: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=aa&hl=en&num=100&lr=&ft=i&cr=&safe=images

and you get a hundred, and the preference sticks in the cookie, as it should. There's likely another .com one that will work, but also likely they'll fix it soon.
