Mac OS X Server 10.6.5 Combo Updater DMG

There seems to be something seriously wrong with this disk image:

MacOSXServerUpdCombo10.6.5.dmg

available on this Apple support page:

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1326

The download completes at only 25.6 MB, and thus the image obviously fails to mount, both with Safari and Firefox, while it should be 1.12 GB in size, instead.

This should really be fixed, and as soon as possible...

Are you sure there's anything to fix? I've downloaded this update a number of times already and it downloads and works fine. There's something else going on that's more likely to do with your network, your computer or possibly your ISP.

Now it works also for me!

I had tried on different computers, not only via my usual ISP, but also via a 3G internet key (another network): the result was the same, i.e., a barber pole progress bar in the Safari download window, with unknown file size (a question mark: "?"), and suddenly stopping at 25.6 MB.

Then, I tried to disable IPv6, and suddenly everything worked well, with a regular progress bar in the download window and with the correct size indicated (1.12 GB): this time, the download completed successfully and the DMG mounted regularly.

I then reenabled IPv6 (with the automatic setting), and everything still works well: not sure, thus, if it really depended on IPv6, or if suddenly something was fixed on the network, servers or ISP side.

Anyway, thank you for your help... 🙂

I'm having the same issue. I can't download the server combo update from:

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1326

It stops at about 27MB.

Turning off IPv6 makes no difference.

I'm having the same problem. My download finishes at just over 200mb in both Firefox and Safari. Unable to mount. I thought it was just a first day problem that Apple would fix but I'm still having the same problem now. I wonder what the deal is?

Same here. No idea why, all other downloads are ok, only the comby gives this 203MB result an this now since days. Wondering that nobody did fix this.

I tried to re-download the same file, and indeed the problem is back again, also in my area.

Probably, then, some form of server-side issue...

Create a new users, run the installer from there. Delete the new user when your done.

Not sure why it worked, but I was at the apple store this morning and that is how they solved the problem.

I'm not sure if I understand this solution correctly. How will creating a new user change the filesize of the dmg on apple's server? The problem isn't installing it, it's downloading it.

Software Update downloads the incremental update rather than the combo update.

Its unbeleivable. From time to time the support site is offline for some maintenace, but still haven´t fixed this problem. http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL1324/en_US/MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.5.dmg always only a 203mb file. I think that they havn´t realized this issue yet. But how to inform a responsible person about this?
P.S.
Creating a new user for sure doesn´t fix that. Getting the same result from 4 different computers here at home.

The link in Balance's post works and downloads a 977MB file that mounts correctly. Only problem is: it's not the server update! The support site is still off-line, no way to get to the update that way.
