Connecting to a Panasonic TX-26LXD52 LCD TV

Hi,

I've been experimenting connecting my Powerbook (1.67Gz) to the Panasonic TV via SVideo cable. The problem is the best resolution on the TV I am getting is 1024x768, yet the TV is capable of showing 1366x768.

I've tried fiddling with SwitchResX but no luck, I sort of suspect the sVideo cable cannot transmit a higher signal.

Would a DVI-HDMI connection improve matters?

Regards,

Martin

For anyone else out there with the same problem...

Connecting a DVI to HDMI cable from the PowerBook or a Mac Mini to the Panasonic gives a fuller picture.

Problem is that the screen is too small (due to the overscan) or too large.

Using DisplayConfigX the best resolution (so far) appears to be 1280x690. There's a small amount of loss to the RHS but is not too bad.

The picture on the Panasonic is pretty good (at a distance).

Regards,

Martin
