NOKIA RING TONES?

I just switched from a Nokia to an iPhone. I am partial to my old Nokia's ring tone and would like it to be my iPhone's ring tone. The ring tone in question wasn't downloaded from a third party--it was a stock, standard Nokia ring tone.

Anyone know whether this arrangement would be possible?

If so, can you walk me through it?

Thanks in advance to all who answer.

Yeah, I've used that site for years - it's very popular. And there's not much a sound file can do. It will either play or won't. There's nothing that needs installing into your system to get a ringtone file.

Have you tried converting that .mid file yourself? I've seen other people say you can import a .mid file into QuickTime Pro or iTunes and convert to a AAC file. Then change the extension to .m4r to sync to your phone.

That was the first thing I tried. The results are in the thousands. Not having downloaded a ringtone before, none of the sites were recognizable to me, and so I have no idea how to distinguish a "good" site from one that has bad intentions, i.e., installing malware, etc. It seems to me that just picking one randomly, any one, is not practicing good computer hygiene.

I was hoping to get a site recommendation from someone who'd done what I'm trying to do before.

It is a MIDI file.
Provided you are able to download it from your old phone to your computer (some files are locked in phone due to digital rights), these are the steps to have your tone playing on iPhone:

- found a MIDI converter: it gets a .mid file and gives you usually a .wav or .mp3 file
- make sure playing length is no more than 30s. Make your cuts if needed.
- convert the obtained .wav or .mp3 to AAC codec
- rename the file to .m4r
- put it on iTunes
- check if the file gone to ringtones or music, change its type to 'ringtone' if gone to music folder.
- sync and enjoy 🙂
