iMovie 08 and audio editing

I still have iMovie 08 and want to edit the audio on my clips. The previous versions had the audio track that made it easy to select audio. How do I get the audio tracks to appear in iMovie 08? All I get is a dialog box for the clip and it doesn't allow me to select a portion of the audio.
