How do I edit my address book?

I thought I had edited an address in my address book but I am still getting returned undelivered notices when I send to this address, also I just can't seem to figure out how to manage my addresses such as deleting some and/or changing them, I know I am sounding stupid but I am new to Mac and am stupid I guess, I can't find anything in my help about it either. Linda:-)

OhLinda, it's not that hard. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) 😉

First to edit, open the address book and select the name you want to edit. You should see the info for that person in the pane to the right. At the lower right of that pane you should have an "Edit" button, click that and you can add, delete or edit the info for that person.

If you want to delete the person, simply hit the "Delete" key on your keyboard when the name is highlighted and confirm "Delete".

If you want to add a person, click the "+" button below the name list and you will get a blank card to add the persons info.

Hope this helps, if not, post back and let me (us) know and we can explain further.

Oh, yea. One other thing. You may have the incorrect email address hanging around in the "Previous Recipients" folder in Mail. Mail searches this list to provide an email address so you don't have to type the whole thing. So, you will want to clean that out also.

Open Mail. Go to the "Window" menu and select "Previous Recipients". That will open up a window with a list of where you have sent previous emails. You can select the incorrect ones and then "Remove From List". That will keep Mail from selecting the incorrect address.

This is exactly what I did, but then I noticed that for some reason it did not save.

It didn't save on the persons card in Address Book or it kept adding the wrong address in Mail? If it wasn't saving in Address Book, I would try again and if necessary remove them and then re-add with the correct info. If Mail keeps adding the wrong email, then try editing the previous recipients.

As a new user, you have come to the right place. There is a wealth of info from the other users on here.
