iPad just stopped working; will not turn on

My iPad has suddenly stopped working. I picked it up this morning to read one of my newspaper apps and it won't turn on. The screen is completely blank. It was working normally last night. I thought maybe the battery had run out so I plugged it is to recharge but it still would not turn on. Do you think it might be the battery? I bought it in July. Thought the battery would last longer than that.

Thank you! I knew about holding the home & on/off button but in frustration wasn't holding it for very long (only about 1 or 2 seconds)! My iPad worked after holding them for about 11-12 secs. Thanks again. :)

Same thing happened to my mini ipad this AM. Haven't had it 2 months yet. It was working fine last night but would not turn on this AM. Checked this post, tried the fix, didn't work for me. Called the Apple store. They told me to do the same thing. Still didn't work. It's snowing today, so I can't drive the 25 miles to get to the store. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

My iPad (4th Generation, Warranty expired) Stopped working suddenly. I tried all the steps listed in the discussion: Power + Home Button 10 Secs, also tried to restore through iTunes and then I got 4014 error. I changed USB Cable, USB port even changed the PC (MAC and Window), but it is not turning on. Its not even one and half year completed to this product. I took this iPad to Apple store and service girl out there just saw 4014 error and said I need to replace this thing with another iPad. Thats not worth, so expensive products even dnt last for 2 years. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
