Q: iPad just stopped working; will not turn on

My iPad has suddenly stopped working. I picked it up this morning to read one of my newspaper apps and it won't turn on. The screen is completely blank. It was working normally last night. I thought maybe the battery had run out so I plugged it is to recharge but it still would not turn on. Do you think it might be the battery? I bought it in July. Thought the battery would last longer than that.

My iPad has been shutting down or not turning on for some time now. Once I'm lucky enough to get to the desktop I click settings, go to reset (at the bottom of the list) and click reset all (in blue at the top of the list). Sometimes it works and at times it shuts down again while resetting! Frustrates the **** out of me! I can't say when it will happen, the thing has a mind of its own!!!

My wife came to me in a panic this morning stating that her ipad was fully charged and it just went dead.  She said she kept pressing the on button without success.  She wondered if if had reached its limit and had to be replaced.  I said I didn't know.  She walked away saying fix it honey.  Yeah sure, I thought.  I tried the same thing even holding it for a few seconds as I was instructed to do on an earlier problem, but still nothing.  Finally I Google the question and it brought me to the apple support site where I read  that holding BOTH the on button and the home button for 10 seconds should make it turn on.  I followed the instructions and like magic the apple logo appeared.   I called my wife and showed her the on screen.  She was elated.  Today is going to be a good day!  Thanks for the assistance.

I tried the 10 sec & Home page button suggestion (for which 'Thank you'") but it didn't simply come fully. It showed me an icon that asked me to connect to ITunes, which when I did, I got a message to RESTORE my iPad Air, which I did. I had  also been told by iTunes that I might have to replace all the items on it , but it seems to have restored fully to where the iPad was when it stopped working. Curious.

Thank you Apple Community. I followed the directions except the apple picture did not appear until the 15th count. Got my IPad back.

My iPad wouldn't open any apps so I held the lock/home button for ten seconds, which i have done in the past. Usually that works great. But this time it still wouldn't turn on. I have charged it and tried rebooting it several times and it will not turn on even after i hold the lock/home button and the apple logo appears. Any suggestions?
