Variance in country of origin?

I'm British but currently in South America on holiday until Christmas when I'm going back home. I'm selling my MB here in Colombia and I want to get a MBPro.

So the questions is, should I wait until I get back home before I buy one due to the possibility of differences in the setup? Are there any notable differences? If I buy my Mac here in South America will there be parts of it that aren't compatible back home or parts where the language [Spanish] can't be altered? Or are the Macs identical regardless of where they're shipped to?

Alternatively, I could buy it from the States as my wife's cousin is going there and could bring it back with her. Would that be a better option? Out of curiosity, are there any differences between a US Mac and a British Mac? For one I'm guessing the keyboard layout might be different?

As always your time and knowledge is massively appreciated! 🙂

Thanks, Joe.

Joe,

They should be virtually the same, about the only difference may be the keyboard layout however that is something you could as the dealer of if there is an online Apple Store in the country you will be buying in (Brazil for example at http://store.apple.com/br) you could ask. The operating system is international, when the machine is first booted you choose which language you desire. Next would be the power adapter, while the Mac will work with electricity between 100V-240V the plug adapters will be localized. This means all you need is a plug adapter if going from London to San Paulo for example, these are pretty easy to find, most airports have them.
