Iphoto will not open after upgrade to Iphoto 11

"In order to open iPhoto.app, you need to update to the latest version." What gives here? Anyone have a solution for this?

Later-I found the update thanks. As it says it is an update to iPhoto 11 I wondered why I hadn't already had this software update automatically?
However, I downloaded but it would not load into one of the 3 options that appeared as options-as it says I need to have iPhoto 11 before an upgrade can be installed!! Seems to be an impasse? Help!

Hi Terence Devlin
Not knowingly moved to a sub folder. If version 11 is a marketing name I must have had 9.1 via my automatic upgrade. I'm not allowed to install it as pop as it says I must have version 9 (market name 11) installed, which I have. The green tick saying 11 successfully installed has told me that. Only the iPhoto section is a problem.

I am having a complete nightmare with iphoto '11. Every time I try to launch it just says"the library is not compatible with iPhoto" and the only option that I have is to quit the program.
I have installed the update and the same problem still exists. I have rebooted, and still no joy!!
Any suggestions appreciated.
James

Further to my earlier posts I one again installed ILife 11. After the usual 30 mins the message came that install successful. Again the suggestion I load 9.1. I looked at Software update and lo and behold there was 9.1 available this time. Downloaded that and hey presto all working. Everything crossed now,

Thanks to all for help and I hope everyone's problem solved.

Crazy man. So after trying all the suggested fixes across the net, i.e. command line, permissions, and completely uninstalling a reinstalling iphoto... this worked. I trashed DivX 5.component, DivX 6 Decoder.component, DivX Decoder.component, DivX Pro 5.component and sure enough it opens right up no problem.
Two questions though. Why? and how will this effect quicktime?
Thanks for the fix.
