Qmaster with two computers Controller works Node idle

I have two mac pro's that are identical. I have them networked via Ethernet. I can see they are connected in Qadiministrator. When I start a job the controller Qmaster activates and then the node Qmaster activates and it looks like every thing is going to work - then after a few seconds one by one the processors on the node system become idle, until the node system is doing nothing.

I have looked every where for a solution and tried every combination I can think of... has anyone actually been successful in getting Qmaster to work?

I am trying to process 12 thirty-minute, SD, 8-bit uncompressed, reference movies into basic H.264 files for delivery onto Vimeo. With only one computer working with 8 cores it says it will take 5 hours and 30 minutes to process just one 30 minute program. Something doesn't seem right to me.

Any help will be greatly appreciated - ron@dmediapro.com

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5), dual 2.8 quad core, 18gb ram, 4tb hd.
