Q: Submitting to Qmaster from Shake under VPN

Hello tech guru community

We have a qmaster cluster of xserves, have a VPN setup and functioning, and have successfully configured the system so that our remote artists (logged into the VPN) are able to submit Maya and Shake jobs via QMaster. VPN, Open Directory are controlled from a miniServe.

Shake (on all workstations) is configured w/ the correct .h file, so that the FileOut nodes have the "renderQueue" enabled, however...

PROBLEM: ... only the local workstations (not using VPN) show's the correct Cluster in Shake render parameters (Render File-out nodes..). The remote workstations, under VPN, show "None Available". "refreshClusterList" has no effect.

Some specs...
VPN is L2TP
DNS has bonjour enabled, and Open Directory is configured correctly
Shake 4.1.1, QMaster 3.5.3 on all macs
Cluster has one cluster controller (also the fileserver), and all render nodes are unmanaged services (both rendering and compressor)
Cluster controller has "advertise services in this domain using Bonjour" enabled in Sharing prefs

I've also tried opening up port 10012 on the router, with no positive effect. (this port is fabled to be the unpublished qmaster tcp/udp port.)

Any ideas?

MacPro (x3), macMini (x3), macMini Server (x1)xServe (x9), iMac (x2), iPad, iPhone :), Mac OS X (10.6.4), qmaster 3.5.3, Shake 4.1.1, VPN
