Mini DVI to HDMI Panasonic Viera

I bought the cable DVI to HDMI from cables for MAC from Australia, But the connection is not getting through to my Panasonic 42 HDTV. Screen goes blue for a second but never connects and Macbook screen to Normal thereafter. Any Solutions ??????
