Wifi adapter cards

My Airport is not functioning at the moment. I have a wifi adapter card that I want to use for now.(Lucent Technologies) The Icon shows in the status bar and the drop down shows the card but it is grey. There's nothing in the 'network' panel to indicate it exists. How can I get this to work? Do I need to find a driver for it?

Sorry, my bad. It's an Orinoco Gold pci card. I found 1 driver for it but the 'classic' environment is no longer supported. Any ideas?

It's very easy to replace the Airport Card if that's where the problem lies. You can pick up an appropriate one on eBay quite reasonably. If however (like me) the problem lies with the card interface then I can vouch for a Sagem 802.11g PCMCIA card. Again I picked up a new one on eBay for next to nothing, popped it in and it worked instantly - just shows up as an Airport Card. As eww says check that anything you look at is OSX compatible - I think the Classic environment thing is a red herring....
