Making a not-equal-to sign

I'd like to make a not-equal-to sign (in Powerpoint for Mac), but because I have the Shades plug-in, I can't use Option [plus] = , which I think is the usual way to make it.

Any ideas?

Finder > "Special Characters" opens the Character Viewer.
