SmartDisk FireWire CD-R/W Drive power supply?

I've used this external drive without difficulty on my PowerMac but now want to use it on my MacBook Pro for a couple of jobs. Seems I need an external power supply instead of just the FireWire connection. The problem is I don't know the specs for the power supply. Anybody know the Volts and mAmps for this old trooper?

The Mac laptops have 500mA at the bus. Many ext HD need upwards of 1A to boot. If you look at the label on the HD itself there is a label which will show you the power requirements for the HD.

I found out that Verbatim bought SmartDisk and their tech support was able to recommend their adapter

The ACFWS is a 12V 1Amp Center-pin
positive adapter. Specs on the Pin are as follows:
Length - 9.50mm
O.D. - 3.50mm
I.D. - 1.30mm
