Surprise email from News@InsideApple.Apple.com

My wife and I purchased iMacs a few months ago (I got mine from the Apple Store and my wife had special requirements so she ordered directly from Apple). We also signed up for One to One (and have had a few sessions already). We need to drive some distance to visit the Apple Store, so it is hard for us to schedule the One to One sessions. We enjoy them when we can arrange them.

Today my wife received an email from News@InsideApple.Apple.com thanking her for purchasing a Mac and inviting her to contact apple.com/findouthow or any retail Apple store. It also had some links for basic video tutorials.

Since I didn't receive a comparable email, I was wondering if it was just spam. I have spent a fair amount of time this morning trying to find out. The information I have found is sufficiently ambiguous that I have finally decided to join this forum to get some help. The best advice I have found so far is to send an email to Apple (sending the message along with full source headers to spam@me.com) to find out if it is legitimate. I will need to send it from her iMac (because I'm not sure how to get to the full headers and attach the information from her iPad).

Any other suggestions for how to confirm that this really came from Apple? and how to find out why they waited so long to send out the email? and why only to my wife?

Thanks, Don

Not sure what you mean by "header" but the email was
From: Apple <News@InsideApple.Apple.com>
and had
Return-Path: <n ibounces@insideapple.apple.com>

Just to clarify, I also bought an iMac (the week before) but did not receive a similar email. Let me know if this is what you meant by "return address". I took this information from the long headers.

Cheers
