ITunes cannot copy music file to iPhone

Thanks Simon. I had 28 songs with this problem. Deleting and redownloading the tracks fixed it. If you have iTunes Match, then the process is a little easier, as you can do it for tracks that didn't originally come from the iTunes Store. My flow (if you have iTunes Match enabled):
1) Sync.
2) After sync finishes, use Grab or Captur or whatever to take a screenshot of the window that lists all the "problem" tracks. I had to enlarge that window and grab it in two shots to get the full list.
3) Find each problem track in your iTunes library and delete it. DO NOT check the box that says "Also delete this song from iCloud."
4) Create a smart playlist as shown here.
(To add that third line, you hold down the "option" key while you click the + button.)
5) That playlist will contain all the songs that you just deleted, and it will show the iCloud download button for each one. Click the iCloud download button next to the *playlist name* in your list of playlists in order to download all of them with one click.
6) Sync with no errors (hopefully)!
Cheers,
Matt

I messed around with the settings and found the simplest solution was this... Uncheck the 'convert to 128" option and sync the offending songs. They should work after that, then recheck the "convert to 128" box. It will mean that the songs in questions won't be converted, but the amount of space for a few songs is negligible. Seems the easiest work around for right now.
I found that this tool fixed the issue:
http://triq.net/articles/mp3-scan-repair-download
What you do is select the files in your iTunes library and drag them to Mp3 repair.
It will then give you the option to repair them and once that's done, the iTunes conversion will work and thus Sync well with you i* devices.
Thank you stevejones1588!
I'm running iTunes 11.0.1(12) with an iPhone 5 (6.1) named "Cologne."
In iTunes, I made a playlist ("new") with one song that I wanted to move to my iPhone:
File/New/Playlist/typed in "new"
Songs/then dragged the song over to the playlist window.
Then I clicked the "iPhone" button. Then I clicked the "On this iPhone" button.
But when I selected the playlist "new" next to the "Autofill From:" dropdown menu, and then clicked on the "Autofill" button, I got the following error:
"iTunes cannot add any songs to the iPhone Cologne because no songs in the playlist new can be copied to this iPhone."
So, I took your advice.
I control-clicked on the problematic song, and selected "Create AAC Version." And then I put that copy of the song into playlist new instead of the old copy (which I had purchased and downloaded back in 2009).
That did the trick!
At least in my case, it seems that the reason random tracks kept failing and the same few tracks keep needing to re-sync was because I had "Convert higher bit rate songs to 192kpbs AAC version" check-marked.
As soon as I unchecked it and hit Sync again, everything synced up, at whatever bit rate they are normally and nothing failed. So, woo! Thanks for the help!
(Every time I went to sync my 4s, the same 11-36 tracks (it changed each time but I kept seeing the same offenders in the status bar) would re-sync and at least three would fail (could not be converted), BUT the tracks that failed were never the same tracks each time. Even tracks downloaded the same day from the iTunes Store would fail. Un-checking that "Convert song," box seems to have solved the problem!)
I seem to have found an answer that doesn't involve unchecking the conversions.
iTunes seems to be unable to convert WAV files that aren't at 1411 kbps.
Even if that doesn't fit the description of your song, here's what I recommend doing: Go to Edit > Preferences > Import Settings, and for the encoder choose the one that results in your music file's extension. Then, right click your music file that won't sync and "Convert to (file extension)", and iTunes will create a version that it can later convert to 128m4a for your device.
If iTunes is unable to, try doing this conversion in a video editor like Premiere Pro or Vegas Pro and getting it to do the initial conversion.
Not a fix but a work around....
Open the track in Quicktime, then go to File / Export. This will convert the track to an m4a file which you can then bring back into iTunes and it will sync ok. You will need to locate the file once imported back into iTunes as the metadata will have been lost.
My work around for this was to highlight the album causing problems, right click, Creat AAC Version, then when it's finished I delete the original files and re-sync. Since I can't really tell the difference in quality, this solution works fine for me.
I had the same issue. I resolved it.
Here is how:
In iTunes, find the song(s) that are not syncing. Delete them from iTunes (including the original file - Move To Trash) and then redownload them from the iTunes Store.
To do this, go to the iTunes Store and click on Purchased in the right hand menu column. There you find Not On This Computer and all the songs you just deleted. Download them (all) and then re-sync your iPhone.
This should work!
Same thing happened to me, but I found a very simple solution. You have to open the file with itunes once it's downloaded. Once it's opened in this way then you can sync. I opened it originally from a dowload that I purchased and it wouldn't sync. But, when I actually opened the file that was saved in my documents and opened it with itunes, it save it in itunes and I was able to sync.
Hope this helps!
Hi,
Use this tool to fix the mp3 file, and then it will sync.

I've got the latest iTunes and iOS5 on iPhone, and have just managed the following workaround:
Your mileage may vary of course, but I hope this helps.
I had the same problem and finally worked just when I attached the file on email and downloaded it from there. Yeah! It worked very well.
Thanks Simon From Chorlton. Your solution worked like a charm for me. Used the "Purchased" list then the "Download Previous Purchases" option in the lower right-hand corner to get to the re-download song method working. And you're right, until I manually deleted it from iTunes the "download from cloud" icon didn't show. Thanks again!
