how much power does the iMac use at idle? (e.g. in watts)

I've just noted how much my current PC chews up in power - wondering how good an iMac would be?

MacBook (Intel), Mac OS X (10.4.9)

You didn't specify which iMac but to give you a ballpark. I'm running a 27" i7, Mac mini server and 2 external disks. Current snapshot is 126 watts.

how about at idle (e.g. like during the day if you left it turned on)?

haven't decided which iMac yet, just wanted to get a handle on what sort of power savings mode they could go into when at idle

I put the i7 to sleep so a Mac Mini with 2 external disks (powered) is 19 Watts.

Woke the i7 and put the screen to sleep: 78 Watts.

Everything on, 126 watts.

So, iMac i7 = 107 Watts
iMac awake but screen sleep = 59 Watts
