Cannot redeem gifted album

When i go to the email i received telling me i have an album to redeem, it redirects me to the itunes store where an error appears telling me that my request is temporarily unable to be processed. Does anyone know what this means? when will it allow me to redeem my gift? Any help is much appreciated.
