Importing RAW image to iphoto [Unreadable File] [Possible File Corruption?]

I have been importing my RAW images from my camera or external hard drive with no problems. Recently, importing my RAW images fail and I kept getting the error unreadable message. A little background, I upgraded to a new DSLR and the images are very much larger in size.

I have tried the following:
- Clearing more than at 20G of disk space on my hard drive
- Save image files to desktop for importing
- Was able to see preview of RAW file from Finder, but unable to open RAW file thru PREVIEW
- Open a new library but still getting same error message

Any help/advice greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance.

What model is it?

The Raw from every model of camera is different. Note: that's every model not every brand. So, the NEF produced by a Nikon D40 is not the same as the NEF produced by a D60, the CR2 produced by a Canon 350 is not the same as the CR2 produced by a Canon 400.

Therefore the Raw for every camera model needs to be added individually.

No one except the manufacturer has RAW support as soon as a camera is released. You can use DPP as a stopgap. Generally support comes from Adobe in a month or so and Apple follows fairly soon or never. For a Canon camera, that should be "fairly soon".

No one here knows when support will be available.

Oh, and don't ever get your hopes up for RAW support. Both Apple and Adobe have abandoned folks who do not upgrade to the latest software. If you feel that Apple has let you down over this, wait until they require an upgrade of an operating system that your computer won't run in order to use RAW on a particular camera!
